Coyotes File for Bankruptcy - Relocation seems more likely than ever

In shocking news for hockey fans in Arizona, the Phoenix Coyotes filed for bankruptcy on Tuesday.

This move allows the franchise to move into Canada, and specifically to southern Ontario, as Jim Balsillie, a Canadian billionaire who's the co-CEO of BlackBerry, has already made an offer of $212.5-million (U.S.) to buy the team. Here is an official statement by NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly regarding the situation:

"We have just become aware of today's Bankruptcy Court filing purportedly made on behalf of the Phoenix Coyotes. We are investigating the circumstances surrounding the petition, including the propriety of its filing. We have removed Jerry Moyes from all positions of authority to act for or on behalf of the Club. The League will appear and proceed before the Bankruptcy Court in the best interests of all of the Club's constituencies, including its fans in Arizona and the League's 29 other Member Clubs."

A possible relocation of the team will leave Coyotes fans like those unhappy and dissatisfied...

Let's all hope this story will have a happy ending for us Coyotes fans. Nothing is over yet, and this franchise may still remain in Phoenix, but we have to show that we love and care about this team! You can post here, or at the best Coyotes blog on the net, fiveforhowling.com

Let's Go Coyotes!
